Our objective for Phase 1 treatment is to get in, fix the problem and get out. We estimate a treatment time of between 6 to 12 months depending on the severity of the problem. This segment features lecture and case presentations and a written test.
COURSE OBJECTIVES - We have established guidelines that we recommend to determine the appropriate cases for Phase I treatment that we will discuss in this segment, along with the treatment options that we have had success with, including the straight wire appliances with an archwire sequence and open coil spring, lip bumper, NPE and 3D lower lingual arch appliance.

I. Fixed versus Removable
II. Indications for Intervention to Include:
Premature loss of deciduous teeth resulting in loss of arch length
Moderate to severe crowding of the permanent incisors
Excessive overjet
Anterior or Posterior crossbite
Class III skeletal patterns
