A 25 continuing education credit hour course, Session 1 focuses on all the initial orthodontic treatment stages. When referring to the stages, this includes: case selection, proper record taking, cephalometric tracing, diagnosis and treatment planning, and bracket placement. We will guide you on the types of records required along with tips for producing the highest quality of these records, and highlight important features on case documentation.
We think it’s important to take our time in establishing all the necessary parameters you’ll need to choose the best case, and how to create an effective plan of treatment. Furthermore, you will improve your skills by learning how to take cephalometric x-rays, then trace and analyze these recordings.
You will become familiar with Straight Wire appliances and their features; how they affect tooth tip, alignment, torque, curve of spee, and rotation. We will guide you with all the specifics of measuring and placing brackets on your patient’s teeth, and the details of proper band positioning.
Since Straight Wire appliances are so important in the success of orthodontic treatment, this course serves as the basic foundation you’ll need to move forward with addressing both the aesthetic and functional needs of your patients.
