Embracing a New Era
Our ortho seminar at the Hard Rock in Tulsa absolutely ROCKED! Thank you so much to all who attended and helped to make the weekend a truly special one for us. It was such a pleasure to see so many of our friends from past ortho courses, and also to have had the opportunity to meet and make so many new friends too. We could not have asked for a better group of attendees, it was so fulfilling to watch our past students interacting with the newer students and sharing their experiences with each other.
Perhaps the brightest part of the weekend was Big Bob's attendance on Friday afternoon. Big Bob came by and visited with the class and he is so excited to have been a part of such a positive event. It was great to have him join us for Dr. Ettle-Resnick's lecture and for all the pictures he posed for as well! It has been so important to us to carry on the orthodontic teachings of Big Bob, who became one of the most respected instructors and clinicians in the industry. The Gerety Orthodontic Education program is based on straight wire mechanics and on the principles and theories developed by Big Bob, and it was so fulfilling for both of us to watch two of his students, Dr. Ettle-Resnick and Dr. Schmidbauer, share his teachings with others who have the desire to continue their orthodontic educations.
Our intent going into this ortho course was to enhance and nurture the development of our students' orthodontic education, and because we appreciate the contributions that new ideas can provide to a well rounded ortho education, we invited Dr. Debra Ettle-Resnick to present the Ortho Update on Friday. What an incredible job she did! Her presentation was thoroughly researched and documented and she presented outstanding cases that were initially challenging but the outcome of each case was finished to Big Bob's highest standards. We so appreciate her dedication and contributions to making this weekend so outstanding for us!
On Saturday Kay Gerety and Dr Joe Schmidbauer presented the "Six Pitfalls to Case Finishing" based on the material and the cases of Dr Gerety, and they too had a wonderful presentation and did an amazing job! Joe and Kay are a tremendous team and they proved it again as they outdid themselves with their efforts for this weekend event. They have very successfully been teaching the Gerety Comprehensive Orthodontic Education Program together in Tulsa and we deeply appreciate Joe's support and enthusiasm for carrying on Big Bob's teachings. If you are considering joining a Comprehensive Ortho seminar or know of a colleague that is, their next course begins in September and is one not to miss!
