How to Get the Most Out Of Your First Orthodontic Seminar

Modified: August 14, 2017 - 11:33 PM

Now that you are registered with Gerety Orthodontic Seminars for the extended comprehensive orthodontic program, we have some suggestions for you. As you begin your orthodontic education, whether you are planning to attend the classroom program or have registered for our orthodontic online education, being prepared is the key to your success. Learning orthodontics is no different or any more difficult than any other aspect of dentistry. Just as you have a sequence for every procedure you perform in your office, we will help you to develop a sequence for performing orthodontics. At Gerety Orthodontic Seminars, we strive to make the entire experience of learning comprehensive orthodontic treatment easy, affordable and convenient.

We realize that orthodontic continuing education, particularly orthodontic for general practitioners can be time consuming and presents a challenge for today’s busy doctors. This is why we extend our learning options to both onsite classroom courses and virtual classroom learning online. Our onsite classes are in Tulsa, OK, and Nashville, TN. For our doctors who have travel restrictions, have a conflict with one or more of the dates for the extended program, or simply prefer to learn online, we can work with you to accommodate your needs. Many of our students prefer a combination of the classroom and online learning. Rest assured that our online programs include everything you need for a first-hand experience, including clinical projects, and videos from our experienced instructors. To make sure that you get the most out of your experience at Gerety Orthodontic Seminars, we have come up with some tips before beginning the class!

Begin Looking for Cases

Students who start cases early in their orthodontic learning achieve a higher level of confidence and success in orthodontics. Bringing several cases, full set of photos and stone models, to the first session, even though you don’t know the criteria, will put you ahead in the game. Our instructors will advise you if these cases meet the criteria for case selection and you can get started right away. By starting case early in the course sequence, you will have continued guidance to completion over the next two years.

Online Access to Review the Course

Once you have registered for the comprehensive orthodontic continuing education course, you will be given access to session I of the online program and can begin reviewing the material. As you review the online material, make a list of questions that you have and you can bring them to our experts to answer. You can go through the videos as many times as you wish for a better understanding.

Include Your Staff in the Training

At Gerety Orthodontic Seminars, we provide a complete program of training for dental auxiliaries. Our seminars reach out to both novice and experienced staff by offering a basic and advanced program. The assistants programs are taught simultaneously with the doctor’s fourth and fifth sessions. Keep in mind that a successful integration of orthodontics requires motivated, educated and highly skilled staff. For over 40 years now, we remain the most recognized program for training staff members on how to incorporate orthodontics into a general practice.

Take Advantage of Monitoring

Our program allows each student the opportunity to attend a second year, ABSOLUTELY FREE!  No dues to pay, no strings attached. We are committed to your success and realize that most cases will take longer than your first year to complete. We offer you a second year so that we can help you with your orthodontic treatment planning all the way through to case finishing. Experience is the greatest method of learning and we want you to gain experience in orthodontics under direct supervision so you are confident to treat and know when to refer.
