KAY'S BASIC ASSISTANT COURSE IN TULSA

Modified: May 31, 2016 - 07:44 PM by Robert Gerety

A big "Thank you!" to all who attended our Basic Orthodontic Training for staff members in Tulsa, we so appreciate your involvement in our ortho course and hope that you enjoyed the experience as much as we did.  What a fun time we had, and productive too!

We recognize that the success of a dental practice, along with the successful incorporation of orthodontics into a dental practice can depend on the education and training of the staff, with that in mind we designed this course to help fulfill those needs.  Our focus is to expand the duties that may be delegated to, and performed by the assistant in offices that are currently utilizing Straight Wire techniques and mechanics.  Kay is a highly enthusiastic, motivating and knowledgeable instructor and encourages a renewed excitement and enthusiasm for dentistry which develops the confidence and ability of your staff to contribute to the growth of orthodontics in your practice.

Kay Gerety's Basic Orthodontic Training is a beginning course specifically designed to teach the fundamentals of orthodontics to chair-side auxiliaries, there is no experience necessary to succeed in this course and there are no orthodontic prerequisites. This is a two-day course featuring lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises. Kay will provide your staff with a clear understanding of orthodontics beginning with patient records, and building on each lesson to conclude with bracket and archwire placement.

Upon completion of this course, participants will have learned effective processes for:
• Establishing and maintaining patient records
• Cephalometric procedures
• Proper bracket placement based on the principles and mechanics of the Straight-Wire philosophy
• Basic procedures including cementing molar bands, archwire ligation, placement of rotation wedges,    and open coil springs
• Scheduling and practice management

Because we believe in providing a complete program for the General Dentist to learn ortho plus provide training for the staff, Kay Gerety also offers an Advanced Ortho Course for Assistants which is structured to be a next step for assistants who have participated in the Basic Assistant course or for those who have extensive experience in orthodontic assisting.  The Advanced Ortho Course for Assistants is also a 2 day course with the same format of lecture, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises.  You can’t afford to miss out on the opportunity to train your staff and to encourage them to accept these responsibilities and to encourage their professional growth.

These ortho courses are wonderful opportunities to train your staff to accept new responsibilities and to encourage their professional growth, and will be a benefit to you and your practice for years to come!
