Embracing a New Era
We are delighted to introduce the first in a series of online orthodontic workshops, The Wide Wonderful World of Archwires. Our online workshop series will feature a wide variety of topics and is new material not presented in the online comprehensive ortho course. These online ortho lectures will offer CE credits and are designed to explore information that is pertinent to the general dentist who desires to further their orthodontic education.
The best news is that we are launching this first workshop as we celebrate the second birthday of our website. Because we want to celebrate our birthday with our membership, this workshop will be our special gift to each of our members to show our appreciation for their continued support. If you are currently a member you will find it on your dashboard, and if you are not a member yet you will receive it as our gift when you register as a member.
The first orthodontic online workshop in our series is The Wide Wonderful World of Archwires and discusses the different properties, types and uses of archwires. In recent years, the orthodontic industry has overwhelmed the practitioner with a multitude of archwires with different names, brands, shapes, sizes, and material types. It is difficult for even the experienced practitioner to discern the properties and indications for all of these wires and for the beginning student, it is totally confusing. We developed this presentation as a Lunch and Learn for our students taking the comprehensive course in an effort to simplify the information. This is a very informal and simplistic explanation and is by no means scientific. It is a personal interpretation to categorize the archwires and simplify the indications for their use. We will review the functions, designs and indications for the archwires that are recommended and advocated by the manufacturer as well as our clinical prospective.
Our goal is to offer a complete education package for our students to learn ortho plus seminars for their staff as well. We hope that you find this ortho course informative and invite you to share the presentation with your staff as well!
