This annual meeting is a great way to review techniques and discuss new trends and products.

Annual Advanced Treatment Mechanics Symposium

Sharing the Secrets to Case Finishing
Dallas, TX

We have a special weekend planned with lots of new case finishing secrets to share with you. Each year, when planning the Annual Update Symposium, our focus is always Case Finishing. Our goal is to bring you information, products, material, and appliances that are current and relevant to case finishing. This year we will be presenting cases from each instructor with a focus on perfecting orthodontic mechanics. The slight nuances of a procedure can sometimes change the outcome of the entire case and we want you to understand and learn the precise details of the mechanics.

To fine tune and precisely detail orthodontic cases we must be willing to spend a little extra time, closely examine many minute details, and thoroughly understand the system of case finishing mechanics. We must discipline ourselves to have a vision of the 6 Keys to Optimal Occlusion and the components of a beautiful smile.  Each of our instructors will detail their vision for case finishing and share their cases with the participants. This 2-day program will focus on basic and advanced mechanics, from beginning to finishing procedures, as well as using the proper tools, in the right sequence, to best resolve the issues most effectively.

While maintaining our core philosophy and mechanics, we will explore and expose developments in appliances, materials, and products as they pertain to some of our more advanced or complicated cases. Definite advantages and disadvantages have been encountered over the years and we will present these mechanics and define our guidelines for determining when one appliance may be indicated or preferred over another. This course is structured for the doctor that is currently utilizing the Straight Wire appliance, has a clear understanding of mechanics and desires an update in terms of current trends and techniques in orthodontics.

Our Learning Objectives:

  • Big Bob's 7 Keys to Case Finishing Excellence
  • Earlier Early Treatment
  • Intercepting the Cause in Order to Prevent Many Malocclusions
  • Understanding More About Function and Form
  • Impact of AIrway and Dental Sleep Medicine on your patient's health and lives
  • All new emphasis on clinical mechanics for case finishing

Need Hands-On Instructions?

Go diving for pearls with our instructors as they share their tips in small groups. Do you have a particular task or procedure that you would like to see demonstrated?  Bring your questions to the meeting and we will have demonstration clinics immediately following class on Friday and during the breaks.  Meet with the four instructors in small groups as they share their pearls with you.  This is an excellent opportunity to bring your cases that you would like some help or guidance with.

Table Clinics

Yes, they were so popular last year that we are bringing them back again this year!  During each break one of our instructors will be presenting a table clinic to a small group that will be relevant to our focus on case finishing.  They each have great ideas and we are excited to share them with you!

Robert Gerety Case of the Year Award

We have asked each of our instructors to bring an exemplary case from their own practices to present at the meeting. We also invite each of our participants to bring a "best case" to present.  Each student case presented will be evaluated by our judges, and one winner will be awarded the Robert Gerety Case of the Year.  The winner will be presented with an engraved award as well as a lifetime membership to our website and 10 cases of brackets.  What a great promotion it will be for you to show off this beautiful award in your office!

Please choose your case carefully and bring to class with you the following required hard copy records:

  • Before and after of:  panorex, ceph with tracing, models, and pictures
  • Patient history/ID/information

We are looking forward to you sharing your success story with us!

Robert G. Gerety Comprehensive Orthodontic Education Program

Dallas, TX

Gerety Comprehensive Orthodontic Programs are committed to incorporating the most current and enhanced orthodontic concepts as we teach the General Dentist to master orthodontics and to successfully integrate it into their general practice.  Our course is taught in Dallas, TX utilizing the same core principles and techniques created, perfected and documented for over 35 years by Big Bob himself.  Maintaining the same high standards, today’s Gerety team lead by Kay Gerety,  continue to present Big Bob’s curriculum while adding their innovations, new cases and mechanics, updating materials and products promoting cutting edge techniques and technology in the classroom.  For more than 40 years, Gerety Orthodontic Seminars has paved the way, providing general and pediatric dentists a comprehensive orthodontic program teaching predictable and proven mechanics for treating patients through a non-extraction method. We have continued to build on those fundamentals, incorporating earlier, early treatment protocol to diagnose and treat airway issues, realizing that nasal breathing, appropriate tongue posture, and relaxed facial musculature during rest and function is critical for letting our patients reach their maximum genetic potential.  Our student- teacher ratio and continued support is unparalleled to any other program. Our team of instructors provides each student with dedicated individual support in and out of the classroom, proving our commitment to your success!

This course will show you innovative solutions that will make orthodontics fun, easy, rewarding, and profitable.  The addition of orthodontics to your practice not only increases your profitability, but also adds a new and challenging dimension of service to your patients and practice. This course is ideally structured for the general or pediatric dentist with no orthodontic training other than dental school. Just as you have learned a technique for every other aspect of dentistry, Dr. Gerety’s method of teaching orthodontics will also provide you with a predictable technique. Each session builds on information, presented in the same sequence you will encounter in treatment delivery. When you have completed this course, you will have the knowledge, skill, and confidence to treat 80% of the malocclusions that come into your office.

This comprehensive, five-session (100-hour) seminar series will focus on the fundamentals of orthodontics and is designed exactly as you would treat a patient, from diagnosis and treatment planning, to case finishing mechanics. Upon completion of the course participants will be able to:

• Select the appropriate cases to treat

• Diagnose cases

• Plan patient treatments

• Treat patients using the Straight-Wire philosophy

• Evaluate case progressions

• Use the latest orthodontic treatment options

• Finish cases effectively

The lecture will include both didactic and hands-on instruction with typodonts to facilitate your understanding of our curriculum. Each and every procedure is supported with a detailed slide sequence, patient cases demonstrating the technique, a video demonstration of each of the 15 clinical projects, and a new hands-on photography module added so each student can produce a complete set of images that meet the standard of care guidelines. Participants will receive individual assistance in completing the hands-on projects during each session.

The dates for each of the sessions are:

September 23-25, 2022
November 11-13, 2022
January 20-22, 2023
March 10-12, 2023

Do you think you might have a conflict with one of the dates? We can help. Because our entire program is also available online we are offering access to our online course to use as a study resource allowing you to make-up missed sessions or to review the material in between sessions. It is a perfect opportunity to have access to the best of both of our programs, have the personal interaction of the classroom and have the lecture material and project videos available to review as often you need to online.

Over 10,000 dentists have attended the Gerety seminars over the past 40 years—you probably know several of the attendees. We hope that you will visit the Testimonial page on our website to see what our students are saying about our program or call Gerety Orthodontic Seminars at 918-606-2809 and ask for a Gerety student in your area.
