Our next weekend of orthodontic courses will offer valuable educational opportunities that both you and your staff will greatly benefit. While the doctors are in session 4 of the Gerety Comprehensive Ortho Education program which will be focusing on Interceptive Treatment, we are also offering Kay's Basic Orthodontic Training for Assistants. It is a win-win for your whole office The Interceptive Treatment lecture is an ideal occasion for doctors who are not enrolled in the entire program to attend as Monitors, and at the same time provide their staff with the knowledge and hands on training they will learn in Kay's introduction to ortho for your auxiliary. Kay's course is the perfect opportunity for you to begin the process of providing your staff with the knowledge and confidence they need to successfully perform the duties you choose to delegate. These courses will be held the weekend of March 13-15 at the Crowne Plaza Southern Hills in Tulsa. We have just completed session three of the Comprehensive ortho course and it was an outstanding experience for all of us. Tulsa once again put her best foot forward and welcomed our visitors with sunny and warm days that were just beautiful. In ...
Delightful doesn't say enough about our weekend course in Tulsa. We have such a bright and enthusiastic class of new students that were not only fun but also productive and focused. In addition to our new students, a good number of monitors joined us for session two as well. A highlight of the weekend was a visit from Big Bob. It was an incredible learning experience for all of us Big Bob has always emphasized the importance of monitoring, not only for the continued growth of the student themselves, but their attendance and input as mentors contribute so much to the development of the newer students. One of our monitors, Dr Michael Auld who graduated with our first class in Tulsa just 3 years ago, attended and offered to display models of his completed cases for our class to review. We are so proud of Michael and the work he is doing, and can't thank him enough for sharing his successes with the class The highlight of the weekend was Big Bob reviewing Michael's cases with him, and giving him some pointers. This ortho course is structured for the general dentist with no orthodontic training other than dental school. Each ...
Highlights Of Our Case Finishing Ortho Course At The Hard Rock Tulsa Thank you so much to all who attended and helped to make the weekend a truly special one for us. It was such a pleasure to see so many of our friends from past ortho courses, and also to have the opportunity to meet and make so many new friends too. Our missions for the weekend were to present an inter-active educational program that was a benefit to our students, to create an enjoyable experience and have some fun, and to encourage our students to share their experiences and knowledge with each other as we strive to carry on the orthodontic teaching of Big Bob Gerety. With the goal of achieving these missions in mind, we stepped up to the plate and kept our eye on the ball and swung for the fences and knocked the ball right out of the park It was an incredible weekend for us and we can't thank everyone enough for their participation We know that to accomplish our goals for the weekend it took the dedication and passion of an absolutely stellar team. We want to recognize and give huge high-fives to ...

We were so happy to welcome another new class of students to the Robert Gerety Comprehensive Orthodontic Education Program in Tulsa Sept 19-21. This is the fourth year teaching our ortho course in Tulsa and it is continuing to be an incredibly fulfilling experience to be in the classroom presenting Big Bob's orthodontic program to such a wonderful and enthusiastic group It s not too late to join our course, we are still welcoming doctors who want to learn orthodontics. Our full course is available online, which means you can make-up session one online and still join our classroom in November. New students can still take advantage of the interest-free extended payment plan as well We established a big goal for session one and had lots of information to cover, with our focal point being the initial stages of treatment. We met our goal and managed to cover all of the planned topics which included proper record taking, Cephalometric analysis, diagnosis and treatment planning, and the proper placement of brackets and bands. We also discussed marketing and practice management for integrating orthodontics into your practice and how the addition of orthodontics into your practice not only increases your profitability, but ...
Identifying the Particulars of Detailing A Two Day Update and Case Finishing Program Instruction by: Kay C. Gerety Dr. Debra Ettle-Resnick Dr. Joseph Schmidbauer The idiom the devil is in the detail could easily refer to orthodontic case finishing as we ponder and search for the catch, secret, or mysterious element to case finishing and determine that it MUST be in the detail. This two-day clinical hands-on program will focus on identifying those elements and resolving them in the most efficient and effective manner. Learning Objectives: Tried and true mechanics integral to case completion New mechanics, products, and techniques that offer a different and possibly more efficient way of accomplishing treatment objectives Three techniques for placing individual root torque and how to determine which works best for you Three completely different methods of torquing the anterior segments to establish the desired finished inner incisal angle Though the Straight-Wire technique is based on no wire bending, wouldn t you like to learn limited and selective wire bending rather than changing the position of a bracket in the finishing stages of Treatment These bends can also be used initially to correct molar rotation more efficiently, create anterior intrusion and bite opening, as ...

Graduations are celebrated all over the country this time of the year, and we had the opportunity to celebrate too as we honored the achievements of this year's graduating class of the Robert G Gerety Orthodontic Education Program in Tulsa. While we worked hard presenting our two courses, the fifth session of the Comprehensive Ortho course and Kay Gerety's Advanced Orthodontics for Assistants, we made time for some fun as well. On Saturday we had our graduation party to recognize the accomplishments of this year's students, with the highlight of the night being Big Bob presenting the certificates to our course participants. It was just delightful to see Big Bob celebrate with yet another new class of students and to visit with so many of his past students who were attending as Monitors. Our goal for session 5 of the doctor's comprehensive ortho course was a complete review of the previous sessions and to reinforce the material that the students wanted clarified. Dr Joe Schmidbauer did a thoroughly professional job of covering a broad range of topics which was no small feat. In our first 4 sessions we covered a tremendous amount of material. During session one our focus was ...
